Okay, so I'm having a bit of a problem, and I need some advice. My school newspaper is doing this thing where we each send letters asking people to donate any amount they can to fund our next few issues (our school doesn't give us any funds, so we are on our own).
My problem is that I have to send twenty letters, and I have no idea who to send them to. My family isn't really outgoing, and I know for sure my parents wouldn't let me hit the few friends they do have for money. I am pretty much broke, and so are all of my family members and friends.
I was thinking maybe I could try to send some letters to local and national businesses, but I'm not sure.

Any suggestions?

My school does advertisements too, but this was supposed to be just collecting money. Oh, I just realized I spelt 'fundraiser' wrong, so sorry.

Try local business -- not chains probably but REAL locally-owned ones (unless the chain is a locally owned one, like Domino's Pizza). Also, try organizations like the Elks, the Moose, Rotary, etc. These civic organizations have to donate so much money every year to worthy causes....

send it to the local businesses and promise to give them a an advertisement or something. My school puts advertisements in the paper for each business that contributes a donation or try to do something creative for them
