o, boy, if i had a dollar each time a man told me he is fond of me or he likes me i would be able to buy a large house by now. who even cares about words? look at actions, they speak without words

Not a good thing. My three older brothers called me "ding dong" for years. It's like saying someone is a ditz or airhead.

I think that he is trying to say that he likes you as a friend, but that he does not love you.

it could mean many different things... from just that he likes you as a friend to he wants you as a girlfriend... rethink how he sounded when he said it... was it serious or just playful?
