How come sometimes when a guy is clearly interested they go one step forward and two steps back in the process? Why are some men affraid to act on their interest and chose instead to flitter around with mixed messages? It is just plain confusing.

One minute he seems very interested and then the next time seems very unclear . I don't get it at all. My story is way to long to explain but I have confirmation from another guy friend who has observed that this guy is interested, just confusing.

Guys your advice will really help.

A few common reasons:

1) he is confused about how he feels;

2) He is afraid of commitment;

3) He read in a book somewhere that this is a good game to play if you want to get a woman's attention;

4) He is afraid of being hurt;

5) He is too shy to open up.

A guy is left feeling too vulnerable if he just goes balls-to-the-wall and persists with the attention he offers to you. He also may feel as though he's coming across as TOO interested, going overboard, perhaps even obsessed.

Even the wisest of guys will be a little withheld when it comes to their expressed attraction to another. They want to get a girl's attention while being VERY careful not to overwhelm her or seem desperate.
