I'm going to do my best to not judge you. It's very hard because I lost a baby while I was in labor and I took perfect care of myself the entire time I was pregnant. You NEED to get help NOW. Maybe you should even check yourself into a hospital or psych ward so that you CAN'T drink or hurt your baby! I would seriously look into admitting yourself to the hospital that is my only suggestion.

Hi, Marie D, I was gonna go on to bed but I decided to look at Q & A before I did, I guess I'm glad I did.How often do you drink? Is this an everyday thing or a weekend thing?Well hon, you have already taken the first step, you have admitted you have a problem. Now its time to do something about it.A pschiatrist is not going to help you with your drinking problem. You need to get a alcoholic counsler.Do they have programs where you are for alcoholics and drug addicts? Call and get yourself an appt. Its real good you are going to go to AA & NA.How important is a job right know.Do you live with your parents or a bf, or are you by yourself? It would be good if you could take off awhile and take care of yourself. You sure can't work if yoursick and you are sick. You have to get a little better before you can hold down a job. I mean you will always have this desease, but you can get it under control, like a diabetic gets his desease under control.Where you live at, is depression considered a disability.Maybe you can go to your welfare office and get help.It wont be for long, just to get your desease under control.Check into these things and please lets get on the right road. The one to recoverery. You are definitly in my prayers.

Dearest Marie - I have been free of the drugs I had addictions to that I wanted not to use. Before I was able to do this I had countless relapses. AA in theory turns most people off because they tell you that you need to abstain from what you had been doing for the rest of your life. That is totally not true. I still have a beer or two on rare occasion. Considering I was an alcoholic and alcohol set off all my other drug use, having two beers without reversing my condition is a miracle. BUT and this is the thing. Although my program is different from AA in that sense you do need to abstain from any drug use for a minimum of a year. Give the basic thought that you wish to be free from addiction some time to set in. Once it does it will become stronger than your addiction. You will be the person you want to be and may be able to enjoy a drink without turning on to other drugs as well. If its only alcohol that's the problem you might need to give it more time possibly two years between drinks. Again once you become the person you want to be you will not give it back for nothing. Don't let the premise you will never have a drink again itself sabotage your sobriety. That's how I got sober.

You drink to remove the pains of depression. When your brain has learned beliefs and life showed that your expectations were in error your brain released chemicals as it is forced to relearn new beliefs. The pain from the unbalanced chemicals in the spinal fluid can be masked by drinking and by medication. Drinking usually allows most of the memory to return and until your beliefs for sex and love are corrected you will have more pain in the future . Stop work and spend full time on your mind and then when you are stronger and can stay away from friends and family you can look for a new job. Your depression will return only as the old thoughts return. This is not a solution to a world wide problem but feedback to guide you a wee bit. You will learn so much faster as you assist others in depression.

Dont wait until tomorrow for AA and NA. Do that TODAY!
The risk to your child is great if you drink. Being depressed, it is important that you get some help and the psychiatrist is not exactly helping how things are.

Avoid alcohol as much as possible now that you are pregnant. If you are a heavy drinker, your baby can be born with fetal alcohol syndrome. Not only will they have mental difficulties, but they can also be born with deformities.
To deal with your addiction, you need to deal with whatever mental problem and issues are driving you to drink. You need to sit down and ask yourself why are you drinking. What's so bad about your life that you need to rely on alcohol to escape? If you don't find someone who you can talk to about these issues, then you might not get better.
