It'd be helpful to know their actual ages. Guys will avoid girls that are too young because if something happened sexually the guy may be charged with statutory rape.

i've done something like that before- it doesn't work if you know that you are deceiving the guy- she should just tell him her real age and if he doesn't like her after that then he probably isn't worth her time. BUT if he's over 18 and she's under it, it could mean a LOT of problems, esp for him. Because of the laws, he may choose to stay away from her just becuase he could get into a lot of problems, and you can't be mad at him for that. If that's not the case, she still needs to tell him the truth because they could never have a good relationship if they aren't truthful with each other
and it is NOT good to let him have so much power over her feelings, if she is already in love with him, then it's going to be an emotional rollercoaster for her, and that's not fun

Ok this is really silly. I wasn't gonna answer this Q cos I thought is was so stupid. let me tell you why. First of all how can she love him is she has only meet him once. 2. maybe he changed his mind and doesn't want to be friends or evern moore. 3. She might have scared him off with some of the things she might have said in the email. 4. She will llook like a fool is she tells him she loves him. 5 tell her to find someone her own age and get over it. I don't know why she is crying over some guy she meet once. Tell her not to waste her time on him and find another dude at church.

You can't just meet a guy and be in love all at once. It takes time and maturity to fall in love.....real love, not infatuation. If she is interested in him she should just tell him the truth and apologize, and say she lied because she just wanted to impress him. I cant imagine that one year will make any difference to anyone if they really like someone, however, I do wonder if she lied about her age, what else would she lie about?

let's back up a bit beka.... your friend told this man she was only a year younger than him and emailed him - to which he did not respond, but says he read it and she loves him.....
that's alot of breath.
1st off, tell your friend she doesn't love him, she's infatuted with him and chances are that he already knows she is younger than she says because trust me, churches are pretty small communities. Yes she should tell him the truth if he asks, but otherwise she needs to forget him and get on with her studies.

I tried them on and now my feet stink!
That is the silliest thing ever. First off, she should be honest about her age. It's stupid to lie about something like that and here is why... If she were to date him seriously then she'd have to tell him the truth at some point and he probably would not appreciate being lied to. So why bother? Secondly, she couldn't possibly "love" the guy since they aren't even really dating. She needs to tell him the truth and then suck it up and act like an adult.
Bottom line: Never lie about yourself to people you have a romantic interest in. You want people to love you for who you truly are. If you lie then they are not loving you but a false picture of yourself that you created. Eventually the truth will come out and then you'll look stupid.
