I just dont understand how some of you people could be so rude, I read the entire message paost that my nother had left jest ashing for advice...How could you people be so heartless, My mother has struggled all her life to take care of my brother and I and has also , for the record, taken care of OUR cat for YEARS, spoiling her as much as she could(that cat does NOT go without)...Like I said ...My mom came here for advice and some of you shot her down like a poor piece of crap that dosent deserve the attention that people with more money have ...Please , I just want you people to back off....Any how we DID take Sassy (our senior citizen, lol kitty) to the vet. It cost 300.00 dollars and we all pulled together and mad it by the penny, (although the bills might have to wait , Sassy will be Fine, Turned out to be a tooth infectionm from not feeding her dry fod , and only moist food....so for all of you out there that spoiul your kittys, make sure you at least mix the dry food w/ the moist

You have to understand this is a public sight, everyone is diffrent when they answer, unfortunately people are not nice when they think they are right or they think you are being not responsible. Sometimes you have to just take those people with a little grain of salt and be grateful for the ones that are nice and informative. I am glad to hear you cat is doing better. I can understand its hard to get the extra money for animals when your family is hard up for money. Its good you got sassy checked, I hope everything goes right and the bills dont get behind. Good Luck

I don't know what the question was that your mom asked, but I'm sorry to hear that she received some rude and hurtful remarks about your cat. I've seen rude and hurtful remarks to numerous questions asked by people looking for advice and honest opinions, and I don't understand it either. Some people don't understand how important empathy is, you know, putting ourselves on another's position and not judging.
I know how expensive it is to take a pet to the vet, we have a Golden Retriever and a Belgian Melanois, and six cats. Fortunately, we can afford the vet bills, and I feel extremely bad for those who have to forgo paying bills to care for their pets. Bless your hearts for all pulling together to care for Sassy. She's very fortunate to have your family as her caretakers.
Our Golden Retriever, Dillon, is 14 years old and has decayed teeth, but in the past couple of years he's had cancerous tumors removed, so mouth surgery was just too much for him to endure. He is on antibiotics 1 week out of every month to ensure that the infections that develop from decay don't get into his bloodstream and infect his organs. Our vet said that many pets die due to poor dental hygiene because of dental issues. We had his teeth cleaned, but it's one of those things we aren't aware of until infection develops. So, you and your mom shouldn't feel bad about not knowing Sassy had an infected tooth. As far as the rude and uncalled for bashing toward your mom, give her a hug and tell her how blessed Sassy is to so loved.

Sorry to hear about that I have found allot of people on here to be rude as well. Always saying stuff like if you cant afford to take the cat to a vet you don't deserve to have one. Screw them some people come here for advise, we are not stupid yes we will take the cat to the vet but getting some free advise never hurts.
Again Sorry about all the a**holes in here

gosh i didn't see the question so i don't know what people said to your mom but i am glad your cat is going to be okay.
just a reminder that when you feed your cat, if i remember rightly you should make sure there isn't a lot of ash in the food, its really bad for their urinary tract.
hope your mom doesn't take what some yahoos say seriously,
best wishes

Wow, no idea what her question was but there are definitely some pricks on here. Glad to here that her cat is ok and my apologies to her for her crappy responses from all those "better than thou" and just plain "special" ppl that felt the need to be ignorant. Don't give up on the forums just yet though...I've found they are really helpful when sincere ppl answer.

Yahoo answers is generally a good place to receive heartfelt advice. While some are sincere in their approach to question solutions others are just immature individuals who think that everything they do is cute and funny. You definitely need to ignore those childish answers and don't ever take them serious as it seems you have already done. Relax, the world is full of idiots and there is nothing we can do about it.

Wow, I'm new to this site and I don't know of your history here. But, yea moist food is not good for the cat as their only source of food. Sorry that you had to go through all that you did - animals need routine medical attention, just as we do.

Yes, I know what you mean.. but it isn't always like that here. I am glad that your mom's kitty is fine. My cat also had dental issues and had to have 4 extractions. Cost me around $600.00 but worth it. Don't forget to maintain your senior cat's dental health by brushing her teeth regularly with kity toothpaste and brush. I brush my cat's teeth everyday now.
