i really like this basson player (lauren) but her friend the tuba player doesnt like me and i think is trying to make her not like me what do i do (the tuba is kinda nice though)

well if you like the girl, let her know. who cares if her friend doesn't like you. your not the one that's going to be with her friend. if her friend was a real friend she wouldn't hold back her friend just because you want to be with her. i say go for it, give it a try and see what happens. what you need to focus more on is the girl you like and what she has to say to you. she might not go out with you because of her friend, and is probably be worried she would loose her as a friend. but let her know who you are and be friends then eventually tell her the truth. you have nothing to loose. if she turns out to not like you at all then it's her loss..if she likes you then she wouldn't let her friends control her life with who she's going to date anyway. but good luck!!!
