I'm black and latina and being black has nothing to do with the texture of your hair nor does being latina. Different people have different textures of hair inside of all races and cultures, so the whole nappy comment is sorta rude.
But to keep up your braids it does depend on your own hair. I know latino men whose braids last for a month and all they do is tie it with a bandana at night, whereas i know black girls who braid their hair in the exact same style and it last for a week. Outside of hair texture, keep in mind the smaller the braid, the longer it will last and shampooing loosens and frizzes the braid. Also covering your hair up at night can make the difference between your braids lasting two weeks, versus two days, seriously.

You will always see where the braid was when you take it out, if you keep it in for over a week, because your hair is being pulled together and kept in that pattern, the same as if you wear a ponytail for a whole week straight, you can see the bump where the pony tail holder was....but you know its time to take them out when they dont look good too you anymore. For some people thats the next day,for others the next month.

I'm not a Latino nor am I an African American but I'm curious about yall braid and wondering when yall get yall hair braided, how do yall shampoo yall hair? Do yall shampoo while yall have yall hair braided or yall only shampoo when yall take yall braids down?

Holla back yall, if yall ever come down to visit Lueizzanna or Missessappeee.

Peace out Yall!
