I don't think there is any one view Christians have. Personally, I think psychics and mediums get their informatiom from exactly where they say they do (at least those who are real). I just think that it is a practice God has asked we not do. He doesn't want me to put my trust in fortune tellers, but Him. It is an issue of fidelity in the relationship.

I can only answer this question as a Christian and as such believe that there are two supernatural forces at work in the world today - God - satan which includes angels and demons.
We are specifically warned in the Bible to stay away from fortune tellers and the like so it would seem pretty obvious their activity and 'powers' are not from God.
The dead cannot communicate with the living in any supernatural way.
Based on these assumptions if a fortune teller does exhibit supernatural powers then I would have to conclude that it is demonic or from satan, of course there are those who are just very good tricksters and have a way of being vague allowing for basically any meaning to be taken from their statements.
As a little footnote I heard it mentioned one time about reading your stars...
There are approx 60 million people in the UK
There are 12 star signs
Assuming the population is reasonably evenly divided up through the months regarding their birth date then there will be 5 million people under the same star sign.
Are 5 million people going to have the same day???

Wow.
I'm not a Christian as you know, but just...wow...such incredible certainty that it's all the same, and it's all demonic and evil. Sad, depressing way to start the day.
Just for the record as far as I understand it, doesn't it break down like this:
Mediums: receive information (audible, visual, etc) from spirits of departed humans, usually of relevance to particular humans on this side. Also may well receive healing energies which can be used to heal physical or emotional damage.
Psychics: Have heightened awareness of spiritual energies, motivations etc of living humans - eg aura reading, some degree of precognisance etc.
Fortune tellers: A broad spectrum, from those who simply interpret a series of symbols (cards, tealeaves etc), to those who use either (or both) of the other methods to advance an individual's understanding of future events or trends in their life.
I'm not going for points here, because I respect the fact that your question really deserves a Christian answer, but some answers here display a truly depressing sense of black and white about the whole area of human spirit survival. I'd like to find an answer that helps explain WHY, if we are supposed ot be created in the image of God, it is unthinkable that the spirit that animates us in the material world survives with all its positivity and negativity after the dissolution of its material host, why there are "only" angels and demons, and why, come to that, one cannot conjur angels just as easily as one is supposed to be able to conjur demons.

they are from the devil. No one knows the future until it happens.
Time moves only one way.
If God knew what Saul would do as king he would not have chose him. Solomon was loved by God and then he sinned and in the end God hated him.
We can learn from the past but we can't go back.
So it is not from the good angels.
More than anything they would like to know the time of the end.
So would the other angels. So do we!
Matthew 24:36 concerning that day and hour nobody knows.
Neither the angels of the heavens nor the son. But only the father ;
and that is because he is causing it.
It will be like the days of Noah, so the presence of the son of man will be. And they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away. So the presence of the son of man will be.
When the Almighty tells him to act, that is the last day.
the demons don't know that anymore than they know anything else. All they can do is guess. Your neighbor could do that.

Well, I will give you my honest opinion, but you may not like it. I laugh at fortune tellers. I think it's hogwash, and they make everything up. They are usually very vague and ask open-ended questions and make generalized statements. They happen across a correct answer a very small portion of the time, which gullible people jump on to prove their credibility. I don't think they're inhabited by any demon (maybe a few of them are - I don't know). I just think that they either really believe they're "psychic", or they know they aren't, but are good at getting others to believe they are.

I believe if their talent was for real, they would drastically change the world or win the lottery, but since they get their info from demons and probably don't know it, like wiccans don't know their power comes from satan and not from nature, they get the info and the demons get to lead people a way from god's plan for their lives, in return a psychic gets a steady income, but not enough like a lottery winning. Demons have been on the earth so long and they can imitate any spiritual gift that God has like prophecy (a spiritual gift) so psychics seem to know what they are talkign about to catch you and allow you to give your money away.

as a christian, i can tell you that we do believe that demons exist.
personally speaking, i think that most fortune tellers are just cons that pray on people's desperation and gullibility. those fortune tellers that might actually be "gifted" would indeed be influenced by evil spirits, since forune telling is a form of witchcraft or sorcery. things which the bible tells us to avoid..

I believe that psychics and mediums get information from demons. I know their are fake ones as well as real ones. I'm a christian and I don't believe in anything that psychics do. They may say they hear from god but they don't serve the Almighty God. The god they serve is the devil. I know from experience that they talk to demons. I have known people like that and it's nothing to mess around with.

*most* christians believe that they don't get information, they just make up something vague and with a double meaning.
This belief is illustrated in this story a christian I know told:
A Persian soldier, before going to war, asked a fortune teller: "will we win the battle?" the fortune teller replied "there will be a victory". The soldier, surging with confidence, marched with his fellow soldiers to their deaths at the hands of the spartans.

The Bible says when you die you die. Quote, ' The dead know nothing at all', so the hope of the faithful is resurrection on the day of judgement. It also says that until then Satan ( a fallen angel) and other renegades are running amok in this world giving us a hard time. Ergo it must be them behind any supernatural goings on. A great chance to mislead and make mischief.
