Why do people keep asking that question? I come here because I like it and I have just as much of a right to be here as you. And I'm not leaving. If that bothers you then good. And pray away...whatever makes you feel good. Doesn't bother me one little bit.
Oh yeah...I'm an atheist but I consider myself quite spiritual. Don't need a god or religion to be spiritual.

I agree with the first answer. This question has been asked numorous times. It is wrong of you to assume all unbelievers are here to change your mind (we really don't care). It is also wrong of you to think that all unbelievers say ignorant statements and are evil. Those that do what you say are just ignorant fools who like to push buttons. I'm sure they're not singling out believers. They most likely do it to others as well because they find it amusing. Do not bother to pray for us. There is nothing to pray for us for. We are very content with ourselves and most of us live happy lives. Those that don't....well....they come in here and stir the pot. By the way, some of us unbelievers are very spiritual.

Dawg, there are some people from all religions that I respect for their well-thought and respectful answers when they disagree. But I agree that those who come on here and disrespect Christianity by tearing it down feel they are justified because some Christians do this to their beliefs.
Since Yahoo!Answers refuses to expand this section to allow more diversity in the sections, this will continue to happen, unfortunately.
I have no problem with atheists and those of other beliefs challenging a Christian, but when they do it in a derogatory fashion they are stooping to the very level they decry on the negative Christians.

if i had a dollar for everytime this question was asked i could retire at a very young age anyway everybody has a right to be here as everybody has something to say about the subject of religion and this forum wasn't meant to convert or deconvert people from religion it was meant to ask questions answer questions and to learn and teach eachother about different religions and religious beliefs but instead people like you abuse this forum by trying to convert people to your religion just like there are people on this forum who abuse it by trying to deconvert people from religion and the debating between sides is useless as nobody is changing their minds much if any at all now i know you are not gonna give me the best answer as you seem to want a biased and bigoted answer by the way you are ranting and raving which is too bad because you are missing out on a very valuable lesson that i am teaching you

It amazes us that religion is being used to make people feel better about their ignorance. Simply because the world is complex and confusing to people. Many mental health professionals believe that all religions were originally created by humans in order to alleviate their chronic anxiety. Their angst was created by their feelings of helplessness in a dangerous universe, their lack of control of the environment, and the knowledge of their own impending deaths.

I'm agnostic and i'm a spiritual person. It's a good question, but the way you ask it you're making yourself look like a fool. If you don't like what someone else has to say, simply ignore.

No person, ever, is not worth praying for. God works through us to reach others, but if we don't think they are worth it, or don't bother with them, we ourselves condemn them. Prayer for those, even if we think them hopeless, can never be wasted.
And to answer the main question: because their thoughts are focused on evil. They are not evil themselves, but the things they do, and the thoughts put in their head are. Prayer will put it in God's hands, and show His example through you.

Dawg,I know how you feel.If christ does not dwell in thier hearts and they do not understand ,they will be hatefull. We are not to judge.God wants us to talk to people about his love and his ways.We can not change the world and in time they might see and receive and accept the word of our Lord and savior.Yes I pray for all people that need help that God will give them answers to solve the problems and pain that we all encounter from time to time.
