I use this product called Citre Shine every time I straighten my hair, and I only have a few spilt ends and my hair is still soft, shiny and not that dry. It's pretty cheap, try to look for the shine serum and the straightening balm (that's what I use). Their products are in dark yellow boxes with a black band across the top. It shouldn't be hard to find =)

Do you mean that helps protect hair from heat damage by a straightening iron or sun damage?

I'm not totally sure but maybe Ax or bug spray? I once lit my chest on fire with ax and did not get burnt!

aveda has a good damage control spay and also paul mitchell's heat seal is pretty good and it's not quite as expensive as the aveda.
