Please be serious...Am I too old fashioned to think that girls should kiss a guy on a 3rd date, and don't hook up with a guy unless you're both serious around each other?

No, that is a very noble ambition these days. Many people are playing off relationships these days, but someone with great moral values has a good head on your shoulder.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not that morally involved myself but you should be proud of who you are!

You should kiss the guy when it feels right, though you're right to not rush it on the first date/dates. Just don't make it a mandatory part of Date #3, the second date might go really well or you might want to wait one more night. As for the second part... do you mean "serious about each other"? Or do you mean that both of you act seriously (ie: not silly or random). If you mean "about each other" than no, that's not old fashioned. If you mean that you guys shouldn't be able to joke with each other, I think that it wouldn't bea really great relationship if you couldn't ever enjoy yourselves.

there's no right way to be. we all have different ideas and values in terms of how fast we want to kiss and how soon we want to get sexual with a new person. i'm quite happy to kiss right away, but sex is something i can't do until i know i have something very serious and special
