I am assuming if you are asking this that you have 'tried' and it seems to be growing either very slowly or breaking off if it is growing.

Yes cutting it is important to keep the ends healthy & keep it from breaking but until it is healthy that little trim could be taking away All the growth you have experienced.

The best solution for healthy hair is a Good quality protein supplement. Not only does it help the hair grow but it also makes it thicker, stronger & healthier. Less breakage and often a shinier healthier look and feel.

From the time I was little I had a terrible time getting my hair to grow. When I was three my mother had never cut the length and it was still above my shoulders. It was thin and brittle and would break off so even when I wouldn't cut it for months except a trim to keep the ends healthy it never would grow much past my shoulders. When I started taking a protein supplement for health benefits I was amazed at how fast my hair began to grow and how thick it got. After I experienced this I did some research on it and found that your hair is mostly protein so obviously good quality protein will create healthy hair. For the past 10 years my hair has not been above the middle of my back and often it is down well below my waist. I cut it every three months and it grows about an inch or more a month.

Most Dog groomers will tell you the best thing for a dogs coat to keep it healthy is a good protein - it is the same concept for us.

Hope that helps,

Good luck

What you want to do is get a haircut every six to eight weeks, each visit only taking off a quarter of an inch. Hair typically grows about half an inch per month. Also, invest in a hydrating shampoo and conditioner and a purifying/clarifying shampoo. (Using a professional brand from a salon works best) You will only be using the purifying/clarifying shampoo once a week. The hydrating shampoo and conditioner are good for the dry winter weather and will keep your hair healthy. The purifying/clarifying shampoo will rid your scalp of any product build-up, excessive oils, and dead skin cells, making your hair able to get the nutrients it needs to grow healthy and quickly.

Happy Growing!!!

There are alot of products out there that claim to help grow out your hair. Some work, some dont and it depends on your hair type.

But hair is simply dead skin cells- so the key to growth is to stimulate the growth of new skin cells. Massaging your head will help the blood circulation in the area and should help with the regeneration of cells. So massage your head with your fingers whenever you have some spare time (even sitting at a red light). Aim for at least 10 minutes a day. Keep hair in healthy condition to prevent breakage (care will depend on your hair type but try to avoid extreme heat from curling irons or blow dryers).

If you are trying to grow your hair out of a bad haircut then you may actually want to try getting a NEW haircut. An experienced stylist can reshape your hair so it doesn't look as awful while growing it out.

I heard that drinking milk is good too. I'm not sure what kind, but I'd suggest 2%. The regular is just way too fattenning.
