if she is a long haird dog, cut her hair, go buy baby diapers and ductape it around her butt.
if she is a short haird dog, it will be okay just ductaping the diapers. cut the hole for her tail though.
trust me this works, thye hate it, but it doesn't hurt them and it works. you won't have dog blood all over your furniture, your bed and carpet.
after she is done being in heat, take her to the humaine society and they will neuture her for cheap, or take her to the vet.
don't let her outisde alone or she will end up pregnant.

Well this is the time when your female can get pregnant. It will happen for about 3 weeks twice a year. Keep her away from males for the next 3 weeks. Getting her spayed will stop here from bleeding all over the place next time. Other then cleaning it up and dealing with her being whinny for a while not much you can do. Well unless you want to go buy her diapers.

Nothing you can do. Keep her locked up so that she can't be bred. If there is no reason to breed her (she isn't a show dog and so forth) have her spayed as soon as possible! There are lots of low cost clinics out there who don't charge alot for spaying. Once your dog is spayed she will be MUCH happier and you don't have to worry about the period.

I'd make an appt to get her spayed. Your vet can do that while she is in heat.
If they can't get her in right away, you can purchase a type of pad/diaper for her from the petstore. This will keep her from messing up the house and herself.
The main thing is to keep her isolated. When you take her outside, make sure you go with her. She can't be left unattended because the boys in the neighborhood will smell her and try to mate with her.
Please consider getting her spayed as soon as you can. You can see, it's really a mess to deal with and this is going to happen every 6 months. The other thing is, she will be healthier and calmer after you spay her. Plus, you don't have to worry about having any pups.
good luck!

Your local pet stores will carry dog 'diapers' that will help control the mess while she finishes her heat cycle. You should however call your vet and book her in for a spay surgery. Book the appointment for after her heat cycle to reduce the chances of bleeding.
Please spay your girl - heat cycles are very hard on the body, and female dogs left unspayed have a higher risk of pyrometria.
Good luck!

Well, settle in for a few weeks of cleaning up blood. If you are sure you want to have her spayed, you can call your vet. some will do the surgery while they are in heat, some won't. Whatever you do, do not let her outside by herself. She will be attracting all sorts of attention from male dogs - it should pass in a short amount of time. try to keep her either in her crate or in an easy to clean area for now. i found that if my dog was more active and excited, she seemed to bleed more. try to keep her calm and quiet as much as possible. good luck

They have doggie diapers for that. As well as keep her away from unneutered male dogs 2 weeks after her period stops as she will be fertile and can get pregnant. The best thing would be to spay her.

You will need to keep her confined for the next two to three weeks to avoid an unwanted breeding. After the bleeding slows, usually around day 9 or 10 since the onset, she will be willing to be bred so pay particular atention to this time period. If you want to avoid future heat cycles you should have her spayed.

Several things, absolutely ony let her outside on a leash. She wil run to mate. You may purchase pads for her, so carpet does not soil. And last but not least, make an appointment to have her sterilized. She will be a much better companion.

She is in heat. If there are any males around they will be after her and it will be a crazy scene. Ge her spayed. There is no need to have a female dog capable of getting pregnant.
