I heard rumours that Vista PC´s can be booted up much faster, almost like switching on a TV. Probably that´s an exaggeration, but is it faster, and do programs run faster.
PS. I have got a very good PC, a very good intel duo core processor and upgrading is technically no problem.

Technically Yes! It is faster if you have a faster computer than your friends or so. If your friend has XP and a 3.4 GHZ and you have a 2.7 GHZ then his operating system and booting will run much faster.

It's not faster. It's just supposedly prettier. My bf has it on his desktop, but XP is better.
