What painting is this? I have asked this before, but 6 days just is not long enough to submit answers and revisions.

Okay. I have been searching high and low for almost 3 months now. Does anyone know what painting this is?

In the picture there is a painting above the fireplace.
It is not a DaVinci.
It is not from the Sistine Chapel.
I am out of ideas. Someone help.
It's not a Boucher.

The framed photograph above the fireplace is not a painting by any means. (I copied and enlarged the photo.) It is an enlarged reproduction of an artist's 'study' of human faces. Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Da Vinci and Rodin (along with hundreds of classical artists) all did 'studies' for works they were about to do or as art students as part of their classes.

My guess, and it's only a guess, is that this is a reproduction of a study by Michelangelo. It looks like Michelangelo.

I have several framed copies of reproductions of drawings by Rembrandt and this has the look and feel of such a reproduction.

Wow, the head on the left looks familiar - certainly bears a resemblence to Michelangelo's Adam but then again it reminds me of a familiar statue too. The head on the right... I just can't make enough of it out.

I'm assuming this is a head study or perhaps it's a modern copy?

Anyway, go to http://forums.studioproducts.com/index.php and ask the folks in there. There are a lot of very well studied and knowledgeable artists there that can usually identify works like that with ease.
