The facts as I know them. (Please correct me where I'm wrong.)
Two Border Agents attempted to apprehend a drug smuggler enterring the US from Mexico illegally. They shot him in the tush, but he was able to escape back to Mexico. The smuggler raised a stink, and was granted full immunity current and future crimes in exchange for his testimony against the Border Agents. The agents were convicted and sentenced to ten years for covering up the incident because they failed to file paperwork properly. I also heard the Federal prosecutor withheld evidence.
Is this what Bush means when he babbles about homeland security - immunizing drug smugglers to nail Border Agents? Have the agents appealed yet?
numerous sources, that's why I'm trying to find out the truth.

Wolfpacker: thanks for details. While the President does not "control every charge or court case," he is responsible for the Department of Justice, which prosecuted these agents, and for appointing the judges who oversee the case (assuming this particular judge was appointed this century). He is also responsible for the actions of the Homeland Security Department, which lied under oath to help frame these two agents.

VineyardTech: thanks for details, although I wouldn't go out and shoot 1000 illegals, just the five who beat up Agent Ramos.
I smell a big fat lawsuit coming, which I as a taxpayer will have to pay for.
