is it possible that he'll be back, say after sometime totally apart, like 3 or even 6 months?

Sometimes people say things that may or may not be true. It makes them feel justified for breaking up. If he wanted out, then no, he won't be back.

It's possible, but it might help if you were willing to make some concessions for him. Men have a hard enough time trying to make women happy...
