Carbon dioxide is the leading cause of global warming, brought about by the burning of fossil fuels. It's already too late to stop the earth from warming up. If the world gov'ts would agree to drastically cut the pollutting of our atmosphere we could atleast slow down the process of warming and avoid some of the catastrophies that are going to occur in the next 100 years. But I am totally pessimistic about gov'ts agreeing on taking any meaningful steps to diminish the problem. I really fear for my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The world is going to be a much scarier place for them. Drought alone is going to kill over a million in a few years. Famine, followed by deseases will increase, as will wars as resources become more and more scarce. It is truly a nightmare in the making.

Hi. Climate change can be partially attributed to the fact that carbon dioxide gas passes visible light more easily than it passes infrared light. Heat builds up as a result and we can not just "kick off a blanket" when this happens.
