You may have a hidden file or a component of a file related to the software you're trying to install, and therefore, when it tries installing, and the Setup Wizard or Instal Shield detects that file ''it thinks'' the software is already installed. Unless you can find that file and some how delete it, you can try the installation again. Try look in in you C drive, and go to Progam File see if there's anything on there. Good Luck!

I have had problems installing new versions of Adobe without uninstalling the old versions. I don't know if that's your problem, but it might be worth clicking on START>Add/Remove programs, then let it find them, delete them and start over.

Best way to check is in your browser go to tools and then Manage Add ons. check that you are displaying all addons that have been used and then scroll through until you find adobe shockwave. Then you can select it and choose to upgrade it if you wish.
