Firefox not letting me save pictures? Why?

I've tried uninstalling and deleting left over install files, nothing changes, if i reinstall it still wont let me save pictures? Whats going on?

What does it say when you try to download an image?

Have you tried resizing Firefox so the desktop is visible, then dragging and dropping the image onto the desktop?
