In your own words....for you personally, how does God speak to you, and guide you?

Well Im a fairly new christian (1yearold). When I pray to him, Ive realized that he doesnt answer my prayers right away. I think he wants me to build more faith. But so far he has answered my prayers. It might not be exactly what I had in mind but he always answers them. I have not heard an actual voice, but when he tugs at my heart and is trying to tell me something I get this feeling, it has no confusion in it. Then I know exactly what he wants me to do. It sounds weird but its the truth. I get a feeling in my soul and I know he is there guiding me to do the right thing. I am starting to be able to tell when the devil is trying to get in and confuse me. God is awesome!

God speaks to me when I realize something that I never had before in a good way. He guides me in the way I stop and think before making a choice. Its the stopping and actually thinking about it that is the hardest to do. Often it will be a saying or phrase someone else says that will make me see something in a new light. I relize later that God was telling me something through that person.

I've heard His voice audibly twice and I yearn to hear His voice again. I've actually had God take over my conversation in a courtroom while trying to help a young woman accused of drugs keep from losing her daughter to the court. She got to keep her daughter and we won the case but it was God's words speaking to the judge not mine. In Houston traffic at 5:00 p.m. getting over 5 lanes of traffic as if all 5 lanes were blocked for me. Unbelievable favor and peace and dreams and precision timing.
Awakened at 3:15 a.m. and told to get up and see the wonders of God. Go outside and see this bright ball of light like a huge moon at the top of the street. I don't know what is was and I've never seen it since. In the Bible it says "Call on Me and I will show you great and mighty things." All I can figure is that I saw a great and mighty thing. There is a song that goes "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus - sweetest name I know - fills my ever longing - keeps me singing as I go." From Austin, TX to Madisonville, TX was like a 30 minute drive instead of 2 1/2 hours while by myself singing this song. I left tired and I arrived refreshed and my strength renewed.
It was an amazing feeling - indescribable. And there are more.

Just be open. Anything important enough for you to know will be revealed in some way or another.
But you have to remember not to put restrictions on who God is or what he is like. We aren't capable to know tht in the first place and if you ask someone that doesn't exist, rather than the real one, there's no one to answer your questions. The real one is "the one that is." That's how the voice described itself to Moses (Yahwah in Hebrew).

God can speak to us in any way He chooses. I think that God mainly speaks to us through His word the Bible, to our heart and mind, and through people and circumstances. The way that we can know if something is from God is if it is consistent with the Bible(His word). www.equip.org

God guides me through answering my prayers, although some of them are really silly, like the time i asked God to fix my alarm clock. He also lets my soul tell me when I'm doing something right. For example, I'm reading both the Bible and the Quran, but i think God is leading me toward Islam since I like, or God makes me like, reading the Quran better.

i believe we all a part of God
like the DNA we share with our parents that give us physical traits and personalities
i believe we have a spirtual DNA that give us spiritual traits
i listen to that part of me , that spiritual part , that God part and i trust what i hear
