I feel neutral when im at school, but when i get home, i automatically feel sad. lisyening to my iPod helps only temporarily, same story with naps and watching tv and such. I feel like i have an eternal hole in me, and cant fill it up. I dont understand why I feel like this, i have a few good friends, im smart pretty, and i cant find happiness! Please help, if you need more details tell me...

sending you a *hug*....i used to feel that way but then i started a blog about my feelings....things that made me happy and sad...kinda turned into a reflective process at the end pf the day and reading it back made me realise what it was exactly that made me feel sad....perhaps it would help you to do the same?
you sound a little depressed.....try drinking more water, eating more healthy...keeping a good routine.....more exercise :)
if you cant find the problem theres no hard in asking the Doc...1/4 people dont even realise that they are suffering or have suffered from a type of depression...read up on the symptoms..ofcourse i hope this is not the case with you hun...i just want to make you aware of it.
it could just be Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) which means the lack of sunlight reduces your seratonin levels (happy hormones) ....i would suggest reading up on the above just to make sure.
in the meantime tho try writing down the events of the day and how each event had an effect on your mood....and after a week or so you will start seeing a pattern....once you find the pattern you need to figure out how to eliminate the things that made you feel bad/unhappy.....and hopefully this will mean a happier you for the future!??
another thing that worked for me was praying...if you believe in God then dont forget to ask for help...
good luck hun and keep smiling!

Hi Allure,
I think that Happiness is a state of mind. And it concerns you and regards people arround you.
There are two things one must observe if one it to be Happy:
1 - One must be able to experience anything without stress of any kind.
2 - One must cause only things others can experience easily.
Once this is said I may conclude for what you say that happiness is not your problem.
It might be something else, because one doesn't feel happy when one wants. The happiness is just right there and then one can feel it. That's why the 2 points up.
To be smart, pretty, young... has nothing to do with it.
Try to make a free personality test on-line like the Oxford Capacity Analisis. It consists of 200 questions you have to answer without interruptions or asking somebody else the answer, the meaning of a word... - use a dictionary if you don't understand completely some word.
The test is valid for a short period and if a long time passes before you take action regarding the results, you'll have to make the test again.
If you question anything, remember to get the message, the messenger is not important.
Hope you find the solutions.

The reason why you feel that way is most likely very complex; a combination of things such as self-esteem, brain chemistry, unresolved issues in your life and so on. Also, life isn't always going to be happy, period. However, a generally contented feeling is a good goal and know there will be ups and downs. First be true to yourself, take care of yourself, do for yourself. I don't mean to not ever consider anyone else, but you must tend to your own mental and physical health first. See a medical doctor, see what you may need to do to care better for yourself physically. Ask about going on an anti-depressant for a period of time. This doesn't mean you're "crazy" or a "loser" or "weak" or some miserable human being. It could simply be that your seratonine isnt doing what it's supposed to be doing, simple chemistry. Check out your community for a mental health center that operates on a sliding fee scale. This means you pay according to your income.Therapy can help you crystalize your thoughts and feelings. Things in our lives aren't always what we think they are and looking at them and thinking of them in a different way than what we are accustomed to can be difficult on our own. A therapist can help you in an objective manner. Don't put off doing what you need to do for yourself and let months, years, go by. Best wishes!

Well, most of us don't feel happy all the time.
What to do:
1) Mabye you should consider getting more active? Take up a mild sport?
2) Try re-docorating your room a bit? Get some bright colours and mabye some cartoons or something. Read a book on "Feng Shui" the art of re-arranging things to be more aethetically pleasing.
3) Hug your mom.
4) Take up something "spiritual" like Yoga or Karate.
5) Practice smiling.
Anyway, take care.

maybe your depressed. i don't know how long you have been feeling like this. some people get really sad during long cold winters. try going tanning a few times a week (wear sun block on face.) it is healthy to get a certain amount of uv rays. i heard tanning uvs are healthier than the sun.seriously, try it out see what happens, if you have been this way for a while, or continue to feel this way there are antidepressants to help, i take lexapro.

That is exactly what happened to me. That you feel like an ampty hole in you but you dont know how to fill it up or make it go away. I felt like that because on those days there were things happening to me its hard to explain but how I over came that was just to ignore it and pretend everything was fine. Well it work and now I dont feel it no more. Just dont think about it ok

What you need is love. Love is the closest thing we have to magic; it practially makes us feel strong and happy. Don't go chasing after it though. You'll find it when you're ready. Good luck!In the meantime, have a chocolate bar or force yourself to smile for at least 5 minuets. It seriously works; I've tried it! ; )

My advise to you would be to go to the school guidance counselor and tell him/her exactly what you feel. Typically from what little I know about you, you sound "clinically depressed" the counselor will help you, or find someone who can. Being depressed is nothing to be ashamed of, everyone is depresses at sometime in his/her life and it is not something most people can deal with on their own.

when i feel like this i talk to a friend. you could also watch a happy movie. those always pick me up and make me feel all happy and joyful ((lol)) . even though you have close friends you may still feel like you dont have anyone to talk to. if you have a dog or other pet you could play with it and talk to it. my dog always knows when im sad and he sits with me and licks my face. well i hope you feel better!
