School uniforms make a school exactly that uniform. It makes students not pay attention to their looks and more on their studies. Many people think that school uniforms keep down on juvenile delinquency.

Ha, we had to do a debate on this subject. I was against for the debate, but I'm really kind of both for AND against.
For: It reduces ridicule from fellow students, and takes the focus away from how you're dressed and puts it on your studies.
Against: Although people can't ridicule you for what you're wearing, since they're wearing it too, they can still ridicule you for how you look in it. Uniforms also takes away a student's means of personal expression through clothing. They stifle creativity and personality. And aren't we supposed to encourage young people NOT to conform, and to be themselves? Aren't we being hypocritical by making them all dress the same?
Hope that helps.

I was against them, but since my school decided we should wear them, they've proved to be kinda convenient. Yeah, you can't be unique about what you get to wear, but at least you don't have worry about what you have to wear the next day. And they don't look so bad. I just wore dickies and a polo. I gotta say I'm a bit for them.
