If your furniture is black, then how about pink on 3 walls (Sherwin Williams- In The Pink), and a silver/gray (Sherwin Williams - Unique Gray) and accent the gray wall with various shades of pink in artwork, a clock, a border, trim, framed photos with the mattes being shades of pink....wherever you wish.
How about silver bedding with pink throw pillows, rugs...etc.
have fun!

Think about cotton candy pink. I'd consider doing one wall about 4 shades darker pink and sponge silver paint over it. I'd decorate with black framed artwork and small mirrors that can be grouped together (different shapes).
Paint a lampshade the darker pink and use a black sharpie to "color" the trim at the top and bottom OR buy some boa feathers from Joann's or Michaels and cut and glue it to the lamp shade top and bottom. Then wrap the base of the lamp with what you have left over!!

Go to this website www.bhg.com and then scroll down to the links on the left side you will see something that says decoraters gallery- then you want to look for coloraroom and go there and you can try the paint colors on the walls and stuff so that you will get a better idea of what shade of pink you want!

I suggest that you go on the website www.behr.com and use the colorsmart tool to decide what paint you want all you have to do is click a link then click a color group (for pink click red) choose the color you would want then follow the instructions its a very good tool and provided my family with good results.

Be careful about pink. It should be used in small doses only, as you can get very tired of it quickly. It is best used in little girls' rooms, but any place else is best taken a bit at a time.

how about a light breezy cottony pink on two walls, and on the other two, neon electric pink, and little yellow flowers all over to comprimise yours and your mom's ideas?
i think a deep rich red would look nice with the black furniture...
but my room's light blue with mainly white furnature (white bed, desk, dresser, lamp, baskets etc.) and it works for me
