Well, my primary partner and I have at least one ex in common, and we still enjoy spending time together with her, so that wouldn't be surprising at all :-)
Otherwise, I can't honestly imagine my mate "hanging out" with any of my exes. Some of his are welcome, but not mine, for the most part.
If I came home and found him sitting here talking to one of them, though, I'd be surprised and wonder which member of my family of origin gave the ex our current address and why he cared enough to track me down. Then I'd rescue Sam from his boredom. I'm fairly sure he would have called me before letting any of them in the house, though ;-)

I would be uneasy. I would feel that my mate is being disloyal to me by hanging around my ex. I'd tell him that he couldn't and, if he didn't have enough regard for my feelings to break off the friendship with my ex, then he'd be an ex, too.
