You can get the texts of entire plays by Shakespeare which have some of the greatest monologues ever. (Hamlet, MacBeth, Othello, Julius Caesar are overdone but what about Henry IV Part I, Richard II or Richard III?)

Or if you prefer comedy, try Measure for Measure or Much Ado about Nothing.

The Tempest has amazing monologues

Just had this addressed by my acting professor today in class--always, ALWAYS find a way to read the play your monologue is from. Use the monologue books to find one you like, but you have to know the context. It can be glaringly obvious to directors and casting agents if you don't know what the rest of the play is about.

there are great books too - for women, men, children, with themes, styles, etc. and those are easy to take with you and flip through on the way.
