It is both. THe earth is a 3d circle. We call 3d circles Spheres, or globes as you said.

The sun appears as a circle because It is viewed from a distance without any shading. A sphere seen in profile appears as a circle, the same way a rectangular 3d building can appear as a 2d rectangle if seen from only one angle from far away.

Because it's round and bright. The Earth is a prolate spheriodal, or mostly a globe but a bit elongated. A circle is flat. The Earth and the Sun are not flat.

The earth is a globe/sphere. When you look at something that is so far and so bright, it will appear as a circle. Also, all spheres viewed from one point are perceived as 2-dimensional.

The earth and sun are globes(spheres). When you look at a basketball it looks like a circle, but if you look at it closer it is really a sphere.

Isaiah 40:22 reads: “There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth.” When this text says that God sits above the circle of the earth, this harmonizes with the fact that the earth is circular, viewed from all directions, but that also makes it globular in form

The Earth is a circle. It is surrounded by the firmament. The Sun is a light placed by god in the firmament to mark the day. It looks like a circle because it is one.

So saith the bible so it must be right.

Last I knew it was a giant sphere. Spheres look like circles when viewed 2 dimensionally or from a distance.

The Sun is an oblate spheroid that is too far away to be examined with binocular depth perception, and lacking surface features that can be resolved.
