I was donating blood for a while, I even got up to almost 2 gallons worth. I started noticing that every month my iron count was getting lower, giving blood just wasn't for me anymore. A friend told me about Plasma, which means I don't have to give whole blood and it can be done a couple times a week; the great thing about plasma is that you get paid, depending on how much you weigh. I don't go through the red cross anymore I started going to ZLB Plasma, the atmosphere is about the same as the Red Cross, the only catch is that you need to take a physical your first visit.

Different areas of the country have different companies. United Blood Services in my area and not Red Cross. The Red Cross would cover me and my family for one year when I donated. That is not the case now. Check with the local hospital for the organization or company that handles your area.

Yes you can go to blood donation centers. We have one here in louisiana called lifeshare. Theres also a place called rex blood services. theyll take your blood and if you want to you can even sell your plasma. Depending on where you live some are the same company just a different name. You can go to the hospital. sometimes they even have little vans in front of stores like walmart where you can donate blood. Life share came to my university and asked people to donate also. So many different places.

If you're in high school, they hold blood drives evry now and then. I don't know about any other place. I'm guessing the local clinic, but I'm not that sharp.
