Magic is useful when used as an addition to more practical methods, such as diet control and exercise. You say you've tried those; therefore, I have to admit that a spell certainly couldn't hurt as long as it doesn't stop you from using all the other options you can find.
Our local Full Moon group has tried this spell and quite liked it.

BANISHING SPELL FOR HEALTH PROBLEMS (SICKNESS, EXCESS WEIGHT, DEPRESSION, ETC)
Materials: A lit candle (black is a good color for banishing), a small piece of paper for each thing you want to banish (flash paper is preferable, but make sure you know how to use it properly!), a bowl with sand in it for the ashes if you aren't using flash paper, a pen.
Cast circle in your usual fashion and invite God/desses to join you who are in tune with your desire to banish health problems from your life. Apollo might be appropriate, or Brigid -- it's important to do research and find one that resonates for you.
The lit candle should be on your altar. Sitting or standing in front of it, meditate on your intent until you feel it strongly focussed in your mind. Speak a prayer to the God/dess you have invited to join you, asking for help in overcoming your health problem. Then pick up the piece of paper and write the name of the health problem on it.
Rub the paper on the part of your body that is most closely associated with your health problem (the belly for weight loss, the forehead for depression, etc), speaking the phrase: "What grows, glows! What glows, goes!" Visualize white energy filling the things that have been growing and troubling you, and then feel that energy flowing into the piece of paper, taking the strength of the health problem with it.
Burn the piece of paper. If it's flash paper, touch it to the candle flame -- but let to of it immediately! It will vaporize instantly in a little burst of flame and leave no residue behind. If you're using ordinary paper, use the candle to light it and place the burning paper in the bowl of sand, letting the fire consume it. Visualize the intensity of the health problem being vaporized as the flames consume the paper.
Repeat the process for whatever other health problems you're experiencing. Thank the God/dess and open the circle. If possible, let the black candle burn down; if ash and wax remain, take them outside and bury them.

Hope this helps.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

Spells and magic are not silver bullets to cure everything.
Rather, they are aids to enable us to get through the mundane and make it one step better.
If diets and exercise are not working, you need to change your eating habits. This is done with the help of a dietary professional and your doctor can recommend one to help you along. Also, if more than this is needed, then your doctor is the best person to make that decision.
Books are not the answer. Spells and magic are not the answer. Will power, changing your eating habits, eating the proper foods and exercise are what needs to be done.
Find a dietary professional and work it through that way. Spells are not going to do it, and take it from me, I am a witch. I know this for sure. They may help once you are on your way, but they are not a solution.

Well, I don't think spells are evil but wiccan's always tell you to try mundane stuff first.
The people I know who successfully lost weight PERMANENTLY:
1) Went on the G.I. diet that targets your HUNGER by reducing the amount of insulin you produce. In particularly, CUT OUT ALL SOFTDRINKS. Eat less processed foods.
2) Increased excercise.
http://www.gidiet.com
The G.I. Diet is recommended by:
1) Canadian diabetes association
2) Several leading heart surgeons in Canada and the U.S.
The founder of the diet used to be the head of the Ontario Heart Association in Canada.
Sadly, while this diet is SIMPLE
It takes TIME.
Instant diets work instantly and then wear off instantly.
This one takes time but the weight loss is permanent and unlike some diets (e.g. Atkin's) it is actually healthy.

yes its called exercise.. run about 20 minutes a day...
do sit ups and push ups.. and stretching exercise for another 20 minutes.. do that five days a week... and you will not only lose weight... but you will loose inches... gain muscle.. and remember.. muscle weighs more than fat.. so if you are not loosing in pounds.. at first.. don't sweat the small stuff you will.
Believe it or not... even though you have had negative things happen in the last six months... this is the best time to get involved in an exercising class.. like Curves, WeightWatchers... Jenny Craig.. You don't have to believe in God to lose weight... it just helps to pray for guidance on what you need to seek in order to meet your goal on loosing. To God ... you might not need to lose any weight.

There are no weight loss spells. Or any other kind of spell for that matter.
If you are serious about losing weight, then burn more calories than you consume. It is that simple, and there is NO other way to lose weight, no matter what ANYONE else tells you.

No spells. Eat smaller portions and more meals a day. Drink water before meals. Take small steps but make them habits. Don't try to lose weight fast. Try doing it in a slow pace you can manage.
Try avoiding rich foods like pasta, pizza, burgers, fries etc.

Sure:
Spells of jogging, such as half an hour at a time helps. So do spells of eating right and other exercise...
There is no quick way to lose weight. Give it up.

I believe that exercise is 10% of the whole and that diet is about 90% of it. Eating right and staying healthy will make sure that you are in a good physical condition and good weight in proportion to your height.

Yes, I know of a couple good ones. Those weight watcher chocolate shakes from CostCo, drink 2 a day with a moderate dinner and a snack and you will surely drop some pounds. And black coffee and green tea is good also. abbra cadabbra
