Although exercising (in the case of the answer above, leading to sex) and keeping yourself occupied may be good ways of dealing with it, I'd suggest seeking the help of a professional. Either a psychologist, psychiatrist, or social worker. Someone that can help you put your thoughts and reasons for depression into something that you can work with. My brother has been clinically depressed for about 6 years, and I had my battle with it for a few years as well. He gets help through medication and weekly visits to a psychiatrist. I met with a social worker 2 times a week and worked it out through my own mind. But I'd suggest getting the help of a licensed professional while you're trying to keep yourself occupied with other things, hobbies, work, etc..
Best of luck, I hope all works out!

If this is an ongoing depression you should think about seeing a therapist. Talking to someone on a regular basis really helps. If it is a serious depression you may even consider taking some medication - my sister suffers from depression and she takes medication for it. It has helped 100%!
If this is just a temporary depression than find a hobby to keep yourself busy! Try cooking or something! Also, exercise is great to do when you are feeling down...it gets some frustrations out and gives you time clear your head!

Start with your diet. Eat right. Exercise, talk a walk at least. Get sunshine! Sunshine is a wonder drug on its own! Winter time is such a bla time. Back in the Alaska Gold Rush days it is said that men would kill themselves for being shut in, no sunshine I think depression.
Get florescent lighting in your home. Some people are compelled to go to the grocery store, there was a report out that they did this for the florescent lighting.
The Northwest of the USA has trouble with depression for it is rainy and no sunshine.
Fish oils are really good for this! As well as other things.
Hope you start feeling better soon!

Don't hang around people who are pessimistic or who feel sorry for everyone about everything, they will only help you drag it out longer; Spend time with people who make you face reality & won't let you lay around & be depressed; Don't drink, that makes it worse; Eat light foods, not heavy ones that make your belly swell (like pasta, potatoes, bread); Find something to do that makes you smile or laugh & repeat it at least once a day; And lastly: Go to a nursing home/cancer center/hospital & visit with the patients & think of how much worse your life could actually be. Then say "thanks" to the one who made your life better than those poor souls :)

Yes, try not to think of the things that bring you down. Sometimes tho, if the depression gets too bad, an antidepressant might be needed.

Exercise and do something positive even if you don't want to. Failing that write down how you feel as though you were brain storming, get every feeling down. For long term relief see a councellor to get to the bottom of the problem.

therapy and counseling. talking things out with friends. finding new hobbies. make new friends. let your reservatoins go along with any hate you have for anyone or anything. trust me it helps. if you're doing things deemed "bad" you should really stop because it will make you feel a lot better. sounds really gay but i've been there and i stopped some things i was doing and it took a lot of weight of my shoulders. good luck. i'm also on prozac but that isn't for everyone. you have to decide for yourself.
