well wither can hurt more than the other but for paintball to hurt more you have to be shot at a distance of 20 feet or less. but generally speaking paintball hurts less

Paintballs are heavy compared to airsoft bb's. Put them in a high quality paintball gun and they will leave welts and bruises as painfull as airsoft. Remember most airsoft guns are cheapies that rarely reach 300 fps like the good ones will. They don't hurt as much as a paintball from a customized paintball gun. They also lose velocity fairly quickly. As in paintball, layers of clothing protect from painful impacts.

"Paintball = Slight to no bruses 300 fps guns and STILL using armor"
WHAT!!!???!!! have you ever even been hit in the arm or the leg with a paintball @ 300 fps? I mean really? Methinks you is lyin' 'bout somethin'.....I've HAD the bloody welts left by paintballs, I've SEEN the bloody welts I've given others by shooting THEM with paintballs--- with speeds of 289-295 fps..... AND I've gotten the little mosquito bite sized marks from airsoft which doesnt even compare.....so please don't sit there and tell me that little airsoft pellets are more painful than paintballs or that paintballs won't leave bruises (WHAT?).....I can testify to the contrary....and I have scars to prove it.

Depends what's powering your airsoft guns. We use electric battery powered guns, so the FPS is pretty low. Those manual spring loading guns have higher FPS, and those sting a bit more. The expensive high end gas-powered models have REALLY fast FPS.
Paintball guns are usually around 300 fps and paintballs have a lot more mass than airsoft pellets.
Unless you're using those gas powered guns, paintball hurts way more.

i'm a paintballer and i've played paintball and airsoft (like twice) before. first...paintballers such as myself and many other players DO NOT USE ARMOR. as a fan of paintball i would have imagined you to know this already but generally only new players will use it. 2nd paintball is more painful. maybe as the other guy had said i was being shot at by weak airsoft guns. it's true though i have bled from airsoft but never from paintball.

your own players believe that pb hurts more.
you wanna take a quick test? it's simple. get your goggs and have someone shoot one BB at you from 10 feet away. then get shot by a paintball. think if you can honestly tell me that the impact on your goggs from a bb is significantly more noticeable then the paintball shot or not.

i really dont know. im an airsofter and i think paintball hurts more. airsoft doesnt really hurt that bad if shot up close. it justs sting for a second and thats it. i was hit today by the 350 fps AK-47 up close and it just left a little red mark that went away. it also depends on where you get hit. it is going to hurt more in the face than it is the thigh. paint balls explode with paint when they hit you and they are alot bigger.

it is because it it true. you need to understand that, while airsoft bb's are traveling alot faster, paintballs weigh alot more, on average 40 times the weight, so they pack more of a punch. look at it like this, a .177 HMR, the smallest production bullet in the world, travels at at about 3500 feet per second, while the .50 cal BMG, travels at about 2500 feet per second. but the 50 cal can punch through 2 inch steal, while the .177 hmr will bounce of 1/4 in steal.

people are always saying that paintball is such a dangerous sport but they let their kids play aisoft. paintball is safer because their are refs and such watch over us while we play. i dont know about you but i have never once played a airsoft game with a ref. so because of that, people who play airsoft are prone to injery because they might do somthin foolish like take their mask of or shoot someone in the face when they are not playing.
