i started smoking 2 days ago, and i like it a lot, it makes me alert, i get really light headed, its awesome! But after doing this i usually become so sick, i actually make my self throw up to feel better! This poses a problem because I'm already under weight (15 years old/ 120lbs) and I'm on concerta which makes me not hungry. I don't know what to do through, i don't want to stop smoking, but i don't want to have to throw up after i do so. So what can i do to get over the sickness part?

That doesn't last. After a week, you build up a tollerance. I fortunately didn't throw up at all when i started smoking. My parent's were heavy smokers so I was pretty much used to it. However, I didn't start smoking until I was 19. I'm only 22 now and trust me, the effects of smoking have really taken a toll on my health. I can't run more than a few feet without being out of breath, I have a constant cough, and I never used to snore until I started smoking. And I only smoke about 5-10 cigarettes a day. Although I do feel it helps calm my nerves, I really do wish I never started. So I'm trying to quit now, but I gotta say, I think it's the hardest thing I've ever done. I wish I would have found a better coping mechanism.

Don't start smoking or it will take control of you, and eventually make you sicker than you are making yourself now. Isn't the fact that you feel so sick you have to throw up after smoking a pretty obvious indicator of how bad it is for you? Plus the alert, light headed thing wears off quick, then you're just left with an expensive addiction and stinkin like horrible smoke. Yuk.

There are other ways if you do want to continue smoking
You can buy nicotine patches or gum. What your body is craving is not the cigarette but the nicotine that you get from it. I guess that it should help. There are chemicals in cigeraettes that can make you extreemly sick, (such as bathroom cleaner YES THATS WHAT I WROTE) Using a nicotine patch can actually give you the nicotine without all the other sickening chemicals.
I hope this helps
Remember, you may not need the smoke as much as you are craving the nicotine, thats what makes people addicted to smoking. And it can also reduce the risk of getting lung cancer and other cancers, i dont really think nicotine has a bad effect on you body, other than the fact that your body craves it after the first taste
Well, wish you luck

I know you wont believe me..... but i have to say it.... STOP, STOP, STOP!!! I know you think its not addictive and you can stop anytime- thats EXACTLY how everyone ends up addicted. It is SOOO difficult to quit once you are addicted. You think you are alert and are light headed- its pretty much a drug to you. Drink a Red Bull or something. I know you dont want to quit... if they say its good for u i would start back up.... fact is though- its so bad for you- and those around you. My biggest scare was a story about emphysema(sp?)- take a cocktail straw (stir stick) and try to breathe through it- thats how you could end up breathing. Soooo scary- you just cant get enough air. Plus.... if you dont smoke- everyone could be attracted to you- but, if you smoke its less than 50% that will go out with you cuz of that. Theres other things you can do to feel good..... i hope you really hear what im saying. You have a long life ahead of you if you stay away from that- trust me- you WILL get addicted. Good luck and take care! :)

dude, i highly recommend you quit NOW!!! i'm not just preaching. i have smoked for 18 yrs now and i wish to God i never started. it's a finacial drain. $5 per pack, every 2 days, that's $5 X 182.5 days per year = $912. ONE THOUSAND dollars on cigarettes alone last year, kinda pathetic huh? yeah i started out at 15 also, at that age it seems pretty cool, makes you feel more mature, like an adult. here's a little secret, most adults don't smoke for the following reasons, it stinks and makes you stink, your teeth, don't get me started on the peculiar shade of yellow they will turn, despite aggresive brushing. i used to be able to run miles with out stopping, now, i can't play more than 3 minutes of basketball without gasping for air. one more little secret, girls HATE it. no girl wants to kiss a guy that tastes like an overflowing ashtray. in fact, i've just inspired myself to try to stop. why do i do it? i ask myself. i can't come up with a single good reason to do it, but i think of several not to.
but if you are determined to smoke, the sick feeling will go away once you get used to it. 4-6 weeks or so maybe.

Smoking speeds up your heart rate, it doesnt relax it at all. I started smoking at the age of 14, Im 25 now, and have quit for 3 years. I wish like hell someone told me this next piece of advice when I was your age.
"If I put money into the bank instead of buying a pack of smokes, I would have well over $18,000. This is back when packs were 1.25 a piece. Smoking will seem cool for a while, but after your older it will just seem like something you have no control over, it will depress you and you will hate yourself for your inability to quit."
The reason you feel sick is its a poison. You're body hates it. That last paragraph is one of the best pieces of advice you will ever get. Please listen to it.

I second what she said. It helps in the short term, but over time you're just going to get hooked and end up losing a lot of money fueling the habit. Find another way to relieve stress.

I don't know what Concerta is, assuming it curbs your appetite. That, and the nicotine might not work well together and upsets your stomach. I wish you hadn't started smoking, it's soooooo hard to quit.
