VHS left or right side of spools?

VHS left or right side of spools?

Does this mean there is a little of the tape left or lots to record onto?

Faceing the tape so I can see the spools through the plastic.... the way that I would put it into the vcr... facing up...

The left side has less tape, the right side has more tape?
Does that mean its closer to the end or beggining of the tape?

The spool on the left is the start of the tape so that's where the most is before taping.

Spool on the left is the beginning of the tape, the spool on the right is the end.
