When having a conversation, do you listen, or do you wait to talk?

Mostly I listen. I don't learn anything when I'm talking, and I like to learn things.

Some of both. I'm not one of those people who wants to put their .02 in all the time on any topic, so often I'll just listen, but when I do feel I have something to contribute I will! And then I'll often start to prepare what I'm gonna say, so I'm probably more in the 'waiting to talk' category although I still try to listen too.

I listen. I don't have much to say in a conversation most of the time.

I actually listen. I do find myself thinking about what I am going to say in return, but I think you have to listen to what the person is saying to really get into a conversation.
I can definitley tell when someone is not listening, their eyes wander and they just have a far-away look in their eyes.
I have actually heard it said that it is rare to find someone who can truly listen, it is an art.

Well, I try to listen attentively to the other party. Therefore I am waiting to talk.

It takes some practice,but growing up in a Latino neighborhood, I learned very quickly to listen to what is said,but give the speaker the opportunity to finish. THEN say your peice. I was always taught you don't interrupt especially when your elders are speaking.

If someone asks you to listen, you do just that. If they want your advice, you can give them some words of wisdom.

Most importantly, do not judge and do not criticise. Be open and courteous, and really listen.

i find myself listening most of the time. i just don't know what to say to ppl sometimes. but i have my moments.

I do both. I listen to what they have to say, and then I reply to them with whatever it is I have to say.*

i will normally listen....and thinking of what to say in reply...
