I'm going to go to Trader Joes to buy a wine but I'm on the Southbeach and don't want anything with too much sugar or carbs. What would be the best kind?

Try a good red wine. They are low in carbs.

my mom is a diabetic and can't have a lot of carbs for health reasons. And I believe her carb counter book said either red or white, didn't matter. But I would probably stay away from sparkling wine, because often those have sugar added to them during fermenation.

also see attached from USDA. Apparently white wine has the least amount of carbs than red or blush. But the amounts found are trace and amounts and may or may not be carbs at all.

Ahhhh...good question. If you do your homework, there is a product that provides info and documentation supporting their claim to lo-carb. One.9 (one point nine) is a merlot with 1.9g carbs per serving, and One.6 (one point six) is a chardonnay with only 1.6g of carbs per serving. Meridian is another vineyard who boasts to be lo-carb, but never saw official documentation...

What in the hell is South Beach Diet? You have to be American? If any diet it worth anything, it would tell you the things you are allowed, and the no nos.
