If the law is preventing you from getting the names there is not a lot you can do.
I would go to a news station and ask them to help, www.wzzm13.com and ask them to post your story explaining the situation and hope someone comes forward,
Best of luck to you,

Some states withhold information on adoption for a certain length of time and then will release it. In the meantime you should post info on the Internet. If you know the city they night live in then go to chat rooms and message boards in that area and post info they might recognize. If they were old enough to know relatives and their real last names that would help too. You might also watch for television talk shows that find lost relatives and write or call them they might just help you find them also. Good Luck.

Nope, my guess is that you have followed too many rules.
Try bending them, see if that helps.
Try asking the department of social services questions:
Like:
1) under what circumstances will this information be released?
2) What are the rules regarding releasing of this information.
You may find that someone who has a very basic understanding of the rules is saying no, and that the rules actually say: "in your circumstances YES" but the person saying no, is clueless and only knows one answer and that is "NO"

If it was a closed adoption back in the day it all was then they can't tell you anything. Sorry good luck.
You can try to hire someone if you know any info like birthdays, names, ect.
Or put an ad in the local papers. Maybe you will have good luck. Sorry I wish I could help you more.

You write the health depart in michigan. i knew my real name and presto got my real birth certificate. I found an older sister and one one year older to the day from me and i foudn i had mom and dad also. mom left right after i was born and i heard she had lots of kids and she lived in south and calif. how about that. You can find them and sure your records were sealed. do you know where you were out of which court?

I agree with Marie f ....if you are able to locate information on biological siblings take everything with a grain of salt. Michigan processes false information concerning events and relationships.

Legally, confidentiality is protected in cases of adoption unless you all find eachother. The state could be sued if they told you how to find one of your siblings and they did not want to be found, not that that in any way minimizes your feelings or loss. I hope you all find eachother. I would want to be found if I had biological siblings.
