You need to give a few days notice ask her on Tuesday for a weekend date, if there’s a event coming up that you some of yours and her friends or going to, ask her to that so you won't feel out of place and she'll have a few friends with her as will and then go from there, next ask her to dinner and a movie, but remember to call her the next day tell her you had a great time and would like do it again, and when she yes I had a great time to, tell her you’ll be free next Friday how dinner @ John’s hole in the wall then we could catch a movie if you like. But try the group thing first.
Good luck and happy hunting

you should ask her out, and dont worry if you get turned down. The world will not end if she says no, and you wont turn into the biggest dork by her rejecting you. For your sake, it might be better to be casual about it, like, "hey you want to go see a movie" because it isnt as personal or deep so if she says no, it wont be as big of a rejection. But yes Thursday is to close to friday for a date. She will be afraid she will seem desperate if she says yes to you so short notice, and so wont say yes. Ask her in the beginning of the week or tomorrow for next week. Dont be afraid of rejection!!

It is better to ask closer to the beginning of the week for a date. If you want to warm her up to an idea of a date, why don't you try asking her to join you for coffee or something first to discuss an assignment or just because. As you get to know her more on that personal level, you might be more comfortable with asking for a date. Also you can discuss movies with her and see the kinds she likes. If she expresses excitement over an upcoming film, it would be a perfect opportunity to ask her to join you to see it.

why not just ask her if she would like to get a cup of coffee after classes were over and take the pressure off both of you say you'd like to talk about what she got out of class and take it from there
if it go's well then ask her out for the evening

rather than saying "hey you want to go see a movie with me?" try saying "i wanna go watch the new hannibal rising movie this friday, wanna come?" if she says no, its no biggie because it was about you watching the movie not getting her to be with you. And if she says yes....then its all good buddie you both get to watch a guy eat people

yes ask on thursday, try in the morning so she does not make other plans.ask her privately and do not tell everyone you are going to ask her.then it will not be a surprise to her.and ask her that you would like to talk to her alone.

why don't you just say "are you doing anything this weekend?" if she says no, then ask her if she'd like to see a movie. If she says yes, ask her again next week.
