"Let him that boasts boast in the Lord"
(I Corinthians 1:31)
"For who regards you as superior? And what do you have that you did not receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?"
(I Corinthians 4:7)
John answered and said: "A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given him from heaven."
(John 3:27)
"But may it never be that I should boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me and I to the world."
(Galatians 6:14)
Thus says the Lord, "Let not a wise man boast in his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on the earth, for in these things I delight," declares the LORD. (Jeremiah 9:23,24)

Pride is an ingredient in every quarrel. It stirs up conflict and divides people.Self righteousness is dangerous. It leads to pride and causes a person to despise others and prevents him from learning about humility.
Pride interferes with the ability to reason and we say and do thing that are wrong just to save face. What is good and right no longer matters.
Prejudice grows out of person pride, considering oneself better than others because of a difference in belief or culture.

it becomes sinful when your pride overcomes you logic and thinking . It`s like you made a mistake in a bridge skematik that will lead to it`s destruction , but you`re too proud to admit that you made a mistake , or to proud to even consider recalculating the data ! That is pride !

Sure we are. We just are not to puff up our self to the point that we think we are better than anyone else. It becomes sinful when it separates us from God and other people. Christians are to be humble and thankful for the blessings God has given us. If not it then becomes a form of idolatry. We worship our selves and what we think instead of God. This was Satan's great sin.

Pride is in the comparison to others. One can be happy that they have made certain accomplishments, but in this case, pride is a bit of a misnomer. Once your happiness concerning your accomplishments causes you to compare yourself to others, whether you consider yourself superior or inferior, its becomes sinful pride.

It is perhaps possible to make a distinction between being happy about, pleased with, and taking pride in. It is my sense that pride in and of itself, is sinful. i can be thankful that I have been blessed, but everything I have is a gift from the Almighty.

yes, Christians should be proud of their accomplishments however.... they also have to give thanks to God for giving them the ind, heart or talent to accomplish those talents. a great man of our times once qrote:
Life is tolive and life is to give and talents are to use for good if you choose. Do not pray for easy lives, pray to be strong. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers but for powers equal to your tasks, then the doing of your work shall be a miracle. everyday you shall wonder at yourself.... at the richness of life which has come to you by the Grace of God. (poem by Fr Solanus Casey)
sinful pride is thinking that "it was all me" . honest pride is thanking God for all He has allowed you to do with His help andthat of others.

I believe there are at least two different types of pride, and the one that is mentioned in the bible I believe to be the boasting kind. The quiet pride in yourself and in your family and your country I believe to be a good kind of pride.

The seven deadly sins arent actually sins but they are things that may lead you to sin.
Also they might be counter to what Jesus preached, for example humility is a virtue so i guess pride must be an "un-virtue"

Nope, every time a Christian claims they are "proud of their kids" or anything like that is sinful, just as if they committed homosexual out of marriage bestiality in the church on the main dias during the sermon, and were so loud it drowned out the church leader, while stealing tithes and poking jesus wafers with a pin...
