I don't know what the issues are that they ride you about. It may seem important to you but for an adult viewpoint they aren't. But we were all kids at one time, hated the parental supervision--just like you. Congratulations on doing well is school--it is important to maintain that. I think you are doing a very nice job for your age. I think maybe your folks are stressed in their adult life, and busy---probably not enough time for a nice easy conversation about things. So they just talk fast, and say it---you are busy also--so you think they are yelling---it is all a perception issue---or how you look at it---put yourself in their shoes, you'll see what I mean. PLEASE--just listen and do your best---an argument just drags it out---just say OK ---anything to keep the peace. Family life is tough--imagine if someone in the family got injured or sick---families get torn apart when these things happen--so just go with the flow---remain a nice person, and of course be respectful and courteous---all this is building your maturity, and integrity----something else important for later life. So remember--I think this is a perception AND a communication issue--but not as bad as you think. SMILE--best of luck to you.----you are an impressive individual. Write if you need to talk anymore. I am in New Jersey and a professional firefighter----

Why do you think the're riding your but, because you leave the lights on or don't empty the dishwasher, don't put a new soap bar in the shower and so on? Try not to be so inconsiderate and do something around the house. Grades have nothing to do about it or anything else that you do. Now get off the computer and clean up your room! NOW! GO!

About what? Taking the trash out? Hanging up your wet towels? Putting the phone back on the charger? Taking your coat to your room and hanging it up?
These are small and annoying issues that drive us parents up the wall. These things need to be done and should have become a habit by now.
The best thing for you to do is grit your teeth, smile and nod, and do what you're told.

That's what parents do. I know what you mean. I have been there. 3.8, two jobs (when I ws in highschool) and still lots of riding. I think you should just enjoy being a kid and realize they do the weirdest stuff, but mostly because they love you. Maybe you should talk it over with them.

When your as accomplished as you are parents like to take the credit for that so they figure if they back off you'll turn into a loser and there goes there power trip. They want kids to be everything they werent......Or maybe they just love you and want you to succeed. Only you know what your parents are really like so pick one thats makes sense to you.

Probably because they care a lot about you, yet at the same time, probably don't realize all the things you go thru. Plus they may fear that if they let up, you may slip into a zombie-like state and become one of the dumb and dumber group! lol

Because they love you and that's probably the way they were brought up.
I am not that far from when I thought the same thing. Now that I have kids, I completely understand where my parents were coming from. It sucks, i know, but it comes with being a parent.
