Get a pair (or more) of strong deer hounds (40 pounds or more each) and let them catch a coyote's scent.
If your dogs do manage to catch a coyote, though (more likely, they'd run it by you) you'd better hope your dogs can work as a team, because a wild 45-50 pound coyote will kill a singular rottweiler easily if things come down to it. A team of strong and sizeable dogs should be able to do it as well, but your bullet would be the best tool for that job. Coyotes are strong and excellent fighters, given how they make their living. Use tough dogs on them (although don't use stupid ones like rottweilers, dobermans, or pit bulls that will attack other people for the heck of it). With hunters, dumb dogs won't last too long.

Walker ,Trig ,July, and gray hounds. these dogs have great mouths. except the greyhound which has the speed and ability to kill a coyote.
Greyhounds usually hunt by sight thats when you go to a greyhound track they chase the rabbit by sight, same way with a coyote or probably about anything else that might jump up in frount of it like a deer .
They have adoption agencies for these grey hounds contact the humane society.
The other dogs you will have to find breeders or people that coyote hunt.
They hunt with there nose or they are suppose to some raise ther heads when the race starts to get real hot (hot trail). then they are real close when this happens.
Have had hounds in the past.

Greyhounds are good coyote dogs. They run them until they are too tired, and then you shoot the coyote, or one of the dogs kills the coyote. I don't know where you can find greyhounds in Ohio, but there are alot of them around where I live, in Kansas.

I live in West Virginia and we hunt just about every thing with hounds except coyote. I not sure how you would hunt coyotes with dogs but if I had to guess I would have to say that a bloodhound, redbone, or black and tan would have to be the best

There's both Walker hounds, and Red-bone hounds in your area, and run at least three dogs, more if you've got friends who like the Chase too. It's really great to hear a pack of good trackers, running coyotes....
