Thanks to all of you for your help, advice and support. I really appreciated it and am very suprised to see how many others have and do deal with this problem. I am even more suprised by the caring of strangers on this community.
Thanks again everyone.

Why don't you try a support group like over eaters anonymous. It would give you a place to share your feelings and fears. You will see that you are not alone and you will have the benefit of the experience, strength and hope of people who are going through the same thing.

see your doctor and talk about it with her/him. one thing to stop cravings of food, even if you're not hungry, is to take away all sugar for a week or two. you can get help from your family and friends to make sure you don't eat any. after you've survived that[and it's not that hard after the first few days], then you can slowly bring back healthy sugars, like fruits and yogurt.

the best and right way to do it is through the south beach diet. it's not a diet, it's a way of eating for life. try buying the book.

just to the person above me, bingeing is overeating, not anorexia. but it's usually caused by people who want to be overly skinny but end up eating a lot anyway, from giving up to cravings. not that it makes you a bad person, not in any way.

Dont' hate yourself. You can try to take on a hobbie that'll occupy your time and keep you from snacking. I love to eat and I can get carried away sometimes, too. You can cut back on your binging by putting away half of your meals for later or the next day. It'll be hard at first, but I know you can do it.

ps. hope this helps and motivates you to stop........remember you are going to heal after you stop.you are like a survivor of an eating disorder, dont you want people to know that.

im sorry to say it hun but you cant just "stop" an eating disorser is like a drug addiction, it very hard to stop. i use to be bulimic, and i had a severe problem that i had a hard time getting through. if i were you, i would go see a doctor, before its to late. because if you continue to do it and you dont get help now, even if you really, really dont want help, im telling you its gunna get worse. i hope you'll be okay. Good Luck hun

I have that problem to!! I can't stop eating even if I get full sometimes, but sometimes i don't get full right away. I just try to stay active as much as possible, and watch my portions of what I am eating. It's hard, but you can't let it control you, cuz then that would suck. You have to put effort in to trying not to eat so much and use portion control.

I know exactly how you feel. The next time you fell like eating, stop and do something else to get your mind off of it. I watch TV and it works. Best of luck

Seriously try to treat yourself with love and compassion. There is some pain at the heart of this, and if you are gentle with yourself, instead of hating yourself, you can access the pain and make peace with it. Only then can you successfully deal with this panic behavior. Don't fight it, give compassion to your heart.
