what are you getting your kids for valentines day??? i have a 8 yr old daughter and 1 yr old son and i am getting my daughter candy, a little pet shop figure and a book....for my 1 yr old son, nothing..just a card!!! he does not care at his age

I have a 9 year old daughter and 21 month old son
For my daughter I got a card, box of candy, a singing frog (every time we went to the store, she wanted to push it and make it sing)
For my son I got a card (mainly to go in his baby book) and a stuffed animal that when you push his heart he makes kissing sounds. Its perfect for my son because whenever he gives us kisses he over exaggerates the sound you make when you kiss someone

You could make valentines for each of your family members with your 8 year old daughter. I'm sure she'd love to do that with you.
The candy and stuffed animals are good ideas also, but making cards with her would be meaningful and I bet she'd keep it as a good memory. =)

My daughters birthday is on the 15th, so we usually get her a stuffed toy for V day, and then her birthday presents the next, we don't give her chocolate though because she will be having cake and ice-cream the next day.

My kids love crafts. We'll be getting them each a few valentine oriented craft kits and a box of chocolate.

I always buy my toddlers animal crackers in a box. they have them with the Valentine candy. they love them.

Get them a cute stuffed animal and some chocolate...its perfect. And maybe some toys that are valentinen's-ish
