Guys are instantly attracted to sexy girls (although personality plays a large role after instant attraction.) How important is it to girls that a guy is sexy?

Appearance matters, but what you find attractive is relative according to your own tastes. There are guys that you know are good looking 'objectively', but 'subjectivly' they may not appeal to you as going-out material.
Also, for women, it is not the guy's physical appearance itself that is attractive, but it is the whole appearance of the guy - and that most importantly includes 'confidence'. Yes, women like guys with confidence!
You don't have to be good-looking to be confident! And also you can fake confidence if you're not. Just think of some uber fantastic achievement in your life (I'm sure you have plenty) and constantly remind yourself of that when you go out - believe me, the confidence shines through...and girls love that!
Confidence is what makes a guy 'hot'! Hot guys are not necessarily good-looking, and good-looking guys are not hot if they're not confident.
Confidence = hot= sexy!

to some, it is just as important as it is to guys, to others, personality is more important than anything. There has to be a physical attraction initially with everyone or a girl wont see you in a romantic relationship type of way, but some girls are a lot more into looks than others.

well i think that looks are the first thing i notice but the personality plays a even larger role so i mean like one guy could be sexy and have no personality and another have tons of personality but not the best looking and i think i would go for the second

It depends, everyone has different ideas.Usually it is the attraction that draws people but it isn't attraction that is going to make them stay. And sometimes people just have to do the friend thing first to find out they are a going to be more than friends! Personally i would take a funny guy over a hot guy!! I like to make people smile and I also like when they make me smile!!

It is important, up to a point. I know that I have fallen for some pretty nerdy guys. The key to being sexy is feeling sexy. If you are asking this because you think that you aren't sexy then you aren't. But don't be arrogant either.

It plays a roll because there has to be some attraction to get things started. Then as the relationship continues and things are good the man becomes that much more attractive because of what is inside. How you understand what i mean.

Not as important as it is to guys. It could be a guy that dresses COMPLETELY out of this world ugly but he's really nice and sweet and trats a girl like a queen. A girl would most likely pick him over a jock. It just depends on the girl really

For most girls it isn't looks but personality. Girls will joke around saying that they would go out with and sometimes do other stuff with the hot guys and ignore the plain & normal guys but when it comes down to it it doesn't matter what the guy looks like . their are some superficial girls though.

Physical appearance goes only so far. I've met a lot of good lookers that turned out to be huge a$$holes. Generally, if I personally find him sexy, that's all that matters to me.
