If you have been diagnosed with small-cell lung carcinoma, it's advisable that you start chemotherapy and radiation therapy ASAP since small-cell lung carcinoma is one of the few lung cancers that are very responsive to chemo/radiation. However, it is highly malignant and metastasizes rapidly, so you need to start as quickly as possible
