Depends what state. In CA, it would depend on if the doors were locked or not.

Locked: Felony Burglary
Unlocked: Misdemeanor Petty Theft (Unless the loss was over $400, then felony grand theft)

In NC breaking entering and larceny...doesnt matter in this state if locked or not if the boundary was crossed it is a charge. and that is a felony
