Why are there 3 main boxing commisions (IBF,WBA, WBC)? and also, does anyone remember who the last fighter was to hold all 3 heavyweight belts at the same time?

i havent really kept up with boxing since hollyfield stopped boxing on a regular basis. and yes i know that he still boxes and is trying for a great comeback to win the belts again. who now has each heavyweight belt?

The reason for having more than one boxing commision is to have championship fights,the more commisions the more fights,also every president of the commision appoints who the top fighters should be,some don't even deserved to be in the ring as contenders,but as long as the fans pay to see it,the alphabet commisions will keep on doing it,the last fighter to hold all three belts was Lennox Lewis,much to the dismay of all the three boxing commisions

Lennox Lewis in early 2000, although the belts are all garbage and politics anyway, the people champion is the only one that matters, unfortunately is doesn't come with any $$, So the WBC is the "best" of the worst, and Lennox Lewis is still the last "true" recognized heavyweight champion. Just my opinion, Mike Tyson can still win any of the belts today IF he really wanted to...
