About the same as most decent cigars you can buy in the U.S. Many of the Cubans rate highly in Cigar Afficianado, but not more often than other cigars that are readily available.
If you are inexperienced with cigars, just remember NOT to inhale, ever. Just enjoy a pull and swirl the smoke around in your mouth and exhale. If you aren't a smoker you will get a buzz and likely dizzy, even nauseaus so go slow.
As a rule, cigars taste better than they smell so be courteous to those around.

In most cases better than an American rolled cigar, and much better that cigarettes. ;I haven`t had one in 15 years but I can still remember the smell and taste. As a whole cigar smokers do not inhale, where almost all cigarette smokers do, With almost ever puff. A heavy cigarette smoker will smoke from 2 to 4 packs a day, and continue to inhale. Where as a heavy cigar smoker might get rid of 3. Watch cigar smokers and they will usually chew at least a third of their cigar.
I have tried them all. My thoughts are if one must use tobacco that a good cigar is the most safe, of the three. Cigarettes, Cigar or Pipe.

Like any other cigar there are good and bad ones. Most are pretty strong which I like.I always have plenty in my humidor. If they have not been kept in a humidor i would buy one of the small humidor packs used for traveling and put them in a storage container for a couple of weeks and be ready to enjoy.Just keep in mind a lot of the Cubans that people have in the US are counterfeit Cohiba for example is one of the most counterfeited cigars around.A cigar smoker that has a lot of experience with Cubans will be able to tell by taste alone.Sometimes you can tell by the label or the box.

There is no harsh taste, but they are very strong. The first time you smoke one, you'll probably get very dizzy. And you don't have to smoke it all in one sitting. You can tamp and have a few more draws later.

Terrible....because.....most times I've had one, its been cherished by someone to save for a special occasion and not appropriately kept in a humidor. No sooner than we light it, than they usually crumble to ashen dust. Best to go to J&R tobacco, and get a fresh "cuban" imitation and you will savor its fresh taste vs something that is well past its prime.
