It means, quite crudely, "Don't be so stupid." Like maybe you're not catching onto the obvious. Usually it is used on someone who being stupid just one time, but if they're being regularly stupid then they probably wouldn't get that insult.

I would think they are telling me that I am being overwhelming...or very deep for their taste...
they are telling me to lighten up.
I dont think this person appreciates my deep thoughts...or are worried of me taking things too seriously.
