Alcohol is addictive. you do things while you're drunk that you would never do while you were not drunk. you might be a very good person but after you get drunk you might hurt someone or even rape someone.
the main thing is that you'll lose control over yourself and your acts and you might\will hurt someone and it's not good.
also it has bad medical effects on the body.

Islam forbids drinking of alcohol because alcohol is considered a poison and unclean. There are hadiths which acknowledge that small amounts of alcohol can be beneficial, but they conclude that there is much more harm than can be compensated by the little bit of good.
I don't know what the Jewish law is regarding alcohol, but Jews in Iran are allowed to keep and transport alcohol for their own personal use, and Jesus (as) changed water into wine at a wedding in Qana.

If Islam forbids alcohol how come all the rich Muslims men who come to Las Vegas get blasted out of their minds all the time?
But on a more serious note, perhaps drinking alcohol in one of the hottest deserts in the world was not such a good idea and Muhammad wanted to keep his army fit to fight. Kind of hard to conquer the world if your troops are either drunk or hung over.
As far as Jews, drinking is OK...

genuine Alcohol was approved before the Quran. the reason being is that in case you look from an ethnobotanical attitude, alcohol proved to be very valuable in it rather is provided energy and a sterile ingesting furnish to human beings and it grew to become into susceptible adequate which you had to drink ALOT to get inebriated. while Muhammad got here, alcohol grew to become into made extra focused and not lots a needed compnent to living. ingesting often is undesirable for you in distinctive approaches, ask any wellness practicioner for the checklist, and that's the reason muslims would be unable to drink, even carefully and all that stuff...

Wine and other drink is permitted to Jews. For people who can drink and enjoy alcohol safely, drinking responsible amounts wine on certain celebrations is encouraged as a way of enhancing the enjoyment of the event. Of course, if someone cannot drink wine because of age, health, or addiction, they may have non-alcoholic grape juice on those occations.

May the peace, blessings and mercy of God be upon you
I am a Muslim. Any question regarding why something is prohibited, the proper answer is that God told us to abstain from such things (pork, alcohol, illegal sex) and this is why we do it, to obey and follow God's command.
Any other explanation is pure speculation, (for instance Pork is dirty thats why) that is speculation
As for Alcohol
[005:090] O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), and gambling, and Al-Ansâb, and Al-Azlâm (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are abominations of Shaitân's (Satan's) handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that (abominations) in order that you may be successful.
[005:091] Shaitân (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of God and from As-Salât (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain?
[002.219] They ask you (O Muhammad [Peace Be Upon Him]) concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: "In them is a great sin, and (some) benefits for men, but the sin of them is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they ought to spend. Say: "That which is (spare) beyond your needs." Thus God makes clear to you His Laws in order that you may give thought.
A very important hadith about the end of times is this one
Narrated Anas [May God be pleased with him]: I will narrate to you a Hadith I heard from God's Messenger [Peace Be Upon Him] and none other than I will tell of it. I heard God's Messenger [Peace Be Upon Him] saying, "From among the portents of the Hour are the following: Religious knowledge will be taken away; General ignorance (in religious matters) will increase; Illegal sexual intercourse will prevail; Drinking of alcoholic drinks will be very common; Men will decrease in number, and women will increase in number, so much so that fifty women will be looked after by one man."
[Sahih Al-Bukhari, 7/5231 (O.P.158)]

Judaism uses wine in various rituals, such as kiddush for Sabbath and Holidays.
A principle in Judaism is that there is no happiness without meat and wine.
This does not, of course, include drunkenness.

Alcohol is fine, just don't get addicted to it or abuse it. There's actually one holiday (Purim) where we're supposed to get drunk its such a happy holiday.
